Schotman Original Peated Rum is another well-balanced, amber collerd Peated Rum. This release has a solid smoky base. On the nose, there is a fine blend of campfire, spice, fruit and tobacco. The taste there is from start to finish an undertone of licorice, bayleaf, and cloves. Dried stone fruit such as plumb gives the rum a little sweetness. The high alcohol percentage of 62% is present as a touch of pepper that gives the Peated Rum even more body.
This limited-release Peated Rum, 263 bottles only, is made from the finest blend of Caribbean rum and Peated Rum distilled at a copper pot/column and slowly matured up to 9 years. Started in an ex-bourbon barrel and finished in an ex-Cognac cask for the last 2,5 years.
